Responsible for patrolling an assigned area and enforcing rules and regulations to safeguard life and property from accidental or malicious damage. Provides transportation as needed.
Observes grounds and buildings to detect suspicious activities or circumstances. Prepares reports and maintains security log(s). Confronts suspicious persons to inquire into the nature of their business at the location. Apprises persons of the rules and regulations governing their presence on center property and warns violators of the penalties for infractions. Calls law enforcement officials and Supervisor to report the presence of unauthorized persons. Notifies Center Director if required to make any contact with an outside agency. Reports fire hazards, broken windows and other conditions affecting the security of the building to appropriate officials. Conducts monitoring of all smoke and fire alarm systems to ensure they are operable, free and clear of obstructions. Drives GSA vehicles as needed.
No supervisory responsibilities are required.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or six months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement or obtain within 180 days of employment and maintain throughout employment. Must possess a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certification or obtain within 180 days of employment and maintain throughout employment. Law Enforcement or Security Guard certification is preferred.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
