Manages and directs the work of the Clinic Caretakers and Custodians, makes daily assignments of workload, oversees repairs, appearance and maintenance of the property, inspects facility and grounds, ensures all infection control standards are met, including infectious and biohazardous waste disposal, recycling and waste prevention programs, linen distribution, related duties as required to ensure aseptic/sanitary conditions are maintained.
Participates as a team member in the work of the Health Center's management team, understanding and implementing assigned duties and responsibilities to support team goals and objectives, working cooperatively with other team members, receiving and sharing information, soliciting input, identifying operational and interpersonal issues and participating in problem solving
Plans, organizes, and directs programs which encourage environmentally sound and cost effective methods for infection control, disposal of garbage, recovery of recyclables and waste prevention. Provides technical expertise to other departments. Recommends and justifies department goals and related financial and staff resource needs. Accounts for the effective use of allocated resources. Directs and coordinates the work of clinic caretakers and custodians. Manages the hiring, training, promotion, evaluation, and discipline of clinic caretakers and custodians. Monitors and reviews employee productivity and performance, staff development, and program implementation for customer satisfaction, efficiency, effectiveness, work priorities, and compliance with laws, rules, regulations and standards. Ensures that staff is provided with resources and technology necessary to provide excellent customer service while ensuring that aseptic conditions are met and maintained. Performs housekeeping and ground maintenance duties as needed. Oversees repairs and maintenance of the Health Center including all emergency repairs by reporting and recommending work orders for submission to Facility Management. Supervises the ordering and storage of all janitorial and housekeeping supplies and keeps a constant inventory of supplies on hand. Prepares and submits all necessary reports. Maintains the security of the building by ensuring that all entrances are locked at the end of the day and opened at the appropriate time in the mornings. Responds to all security alarms twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Other Duties as assigned by Center Administrator. Other duties may be assigned.
Directly supervises four (4) - twenty (20) employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
An additional five (5) years related experience is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Must have CPR certification. Prefer Certified Executive House Keeper.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have knowledge of building and grounds maintenance. Must be able to operate materials handling equipment. Basic computer skills.
