Assists with supervision in the classroom. Assists with the instruction to students in Cherokee language according to set lesson plans and curriculum using Cherokee syllabary
Assists in developing of lesson plans. Teaches daily lessons in Cherokee language. Operates language technology. Assists in maintaining records and reports. Assists in maintaining records and reports as required. Responsible for the overall classroom in the absence of the certified teacher. Assists in physically arranges the room and equipment for learning sessions. Works with the teachers to maintain comunication with parents and staff in both written and verbal form. Prepares the classroom by making sure the room is clean and orderly. Participates in all co-curricular and extra curricular events. Other duties may be assigned.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or six months experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Associate's degree from 2-year college or technical school; or two years (60 credit hours) coursework from 4-year college or university. Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Must be fluent in the Cherokee Language.
