  • Job Summary

    Instructs adolescents and young adults in academic and non-academic subjects and develops instructional material.

    Job Duties

    Instructs students in specific subject matter to improve their employability in accordance with set guidelines.  Prepares students to take required test(s) by providing them with related subject matter in both oral and written form.  Provides additional help and guidance to assist students with needs.  Administers and grades required testing according to requirements.  Reviews tests and evaluates students' work and knowledge of subjects.  Counsels students in regard to progress and performance.  Assesses, develops and maintains instructional materials and an inventory of supplies and equipment.  Prepares, maintains and submits required reports, student evaluations, and other internal and external records.  Participates in committee assignments as required. Maintains classroom discipline and control of student conduct.  Stabilizes and strengthens self-concept of all students in order to become functional and employable in society.  Monitors students while not in the classroom. Other duties may be assigned.  



    No supervisory responsibility is required.



    Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.



    No additional experience is required.



    An individual should have knowledge of Database, Internet, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software.



    Driver’s License preferred. If a driver does not meet the requirements for the Cherokee Nation underwriting rating then they will be an excluded driver and will not be able to drive any GSA vehicles.  Must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate or license.  Must possess a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certification or obtain within 180 days of employment and maintain throughout employment.



    Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.  Must complete any specialized training required by the Department of Labor.

    Employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers; or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).


    Hours:  7:45am to 4:45pm

    Department prefers teaching experience in driver's education.
